Meet Maggie

“Why do I have to be the one to give up my room?” Maggie muttered to herself, her voice tinged with frustration. Feeling helpless, she stared at the pile of apple boxes on her bedroom floor and haphazardly kicked one to make her point to the empty room. Her life felt like it was in shambles, much like her room, but being the older sister meant shouldering more responsibility and acting as a role model for her little sister, Georgie. “I wish somebody understood how hard this is for me.” Maggie was 12 and wanted her own space as she became a teenager. Grandma Nana needed their help, but knowing what had to be done didn’t make it any easier for Maggie.
