I grew up in a home where stories were part of the rhythm of everyday life. My Dad had a quick wit and an even quicker wink that shaped his storytelling and the way I saw the world. As a child, I was equally captivated by NASA, which inspired me to pursue degrees in applied math and computer science. I began my career as a programmer, then a simulator database coordinator, and later a software developer.
Everything shifted when I had children and began teaching part‑time. I discovered how much I loved education—especially the challenge of making abstract ideas meaningful. As a college math professor, I returned to school to earn a Master of Arts in Education, and I’ve spent the past 20 years teaching. My storytelling instincts have become one of my most powerful tools, helping students connect mathematical ideas to the real world.
My passion for narrative expanded beyond the classroom. Drawing on my lifelong love of genealogy, I published human-centered historical features, including Veterans’ Flags Fly Free Again, Brothers-in-Arms, From Boot Camp to Combat Boots, and others.
Today, I am creating Middle-Grade Time Travel novels that weave together family, discovery, and pivotal moments from the past. I write for young readers who are just beginning to discover how big, strange, and wonderful the world can be—and how the past is always closer than it seems.
